The Dasher Family’s maid, SONYA, brings over a plate of eggs, bacon, and toast for NATHANIEL(55), JOANNE(52), and VALERIE(35). Glasses and napkins are already there as well as jug of milk and orange juice. Sonya then stands to the corner waiting for further instructions.  

NATHANIEL 

Thank you. Sonya. It smells great. 

JOANNE 

You’re the best. Thank you.  

VALERIE 

Thank you. Sonya. For cooking this wonderful meal.  

SONYA 

It is no problem. Part of my job. Anything else before I head back into the kitchen.  

NATHANIEL 

Not at the moment. You are dismissed for now.  

Sonya nods and heads out.  

VALERIE 

Well. Dad. Mom. We better eat this before our food gets cold.  

NATHANIEL  

Of course. Let’s eat.  

SONYA 

Yea.  

Nathaniel, Joanne, and Valerie then start to eat their meal after each of them pour either orange juice or milk into their glasses.  

CUT TO: 

EXT. SHELLSTONE CITY HALL-DAY  

AMBER(33) is with a group of protestors shouting for equality for working women professors in the collage setting. They are all holding posters.  

AMBER 

Rights for Women. We need better pay.  

PROTESTOR #1 

Yea. We do. Make us equal . We worked hard. 

PROTESTOR #2 

We want equal treatment. Yea Yea Yea.  

PROTESTOR #3 

Rights for women. We worked hard. Rights for women.  

AMBER 

Bring us equality or face our wrath.  

PROTESTOR #4 

Yea. Yea. Yea. Go Equality. Give us our rights.  

PROTESTOR #5 

More for women. We need more pay.  

Then a group of police officers run in to stop them.  

PROTESTOR #3 

It’s the cops. Let’s move.  

PROTESTOR #5 

Yea. Grab our posters and get out of here.  

PROTESTOR #4 

Yea. Come on. Move. Move.  

PROTECTOR #1 

Got it. Time to move. Come on. Amber.  

AMBER 

Alright.  

PROTESTOR #2 

We have to move out soon.  

The other protestors nod in agreement and run off. Amber is the last one and gets stopped by one of the officers, OFFICER CARLTON.  

OFFICER CARLTON 

Amber Fields. Is it?  

AMBER 

Oh hey. This is not what it looks like.  

OFFICER CARLTON  

Uh huh. Didn’t your dad tell you to stop doing thing like that?  

AMBER 

Mr. Carlton. I’m fighting for Women’s Rights. It’s a good cause. Can you just let me go considering you and my dad are good friends?  

OFFICER CARLTON 

It’s Officer Carlton while I’m on duty. Just this time. Next time. You’re going to the dog house.  

AMBER 

Of course. Officer Carlton.  

Amber walks away.  

OFFICER CARLTON  

That girl. Just like her father. Back then. 

Officer Carlton smiles as he gets back to what he is doing by getting the other protestors to leave.  

CUT TO:  

EXT. SHELLSTONE CITY PARK- DAY 

MIRANDA(35) is walking and then suddenly pauses thinking of the past.  

FLASHBACK TO:  

EXT. SHELLSTONE CITY PARK-NIGHT 

ON SCREEN:

TWO YEARS AGO

Miranda is sitting in the car next to her partner, DYLAN MARTIN. 

MIRANDA 

You sure this is the right place? Inspector Martin. 

DYLAN 

Yea I’m sure. Detective Lang. It’s where the evidence led us.  

MIRANDA 

But we should still be careful. You don’t know what dangers can come.  

DYLAN 

Don’t be such a worrywart. It’s just a park.  

MIRANDA 

Uh huh. They always say that. And sometimes danger happens. Remember our first case. 

DYLAN 

Oh yea. But that was a one-time thing.  

MIRANDA 

And I don’t want to make it a two time thing.  

DYLAN 

Okay. Then. Come one. We’re not going to find anything by sitting here in the car. 

MIRANDA 

I don’t know. But fine. 

DYLAN 

But just in case. For your sake. Ready our guns on hand. 

MIRANDA  

Alright.  

Miranda and Dylan get out the car with their guns on hand and close the door and start walking around to see if they find something suspicious.  

CUT TO: 

EXT. PARK-NIGHT(LATER)  

Miranda and Dylan then noticing a man around his late 20s chasing after a young woman shooting energy balls from his hands. They both rub their eyes thinking they are hallucinating. 

MIRANDA 

Inspector Martin. Did you just see that too? What he can do. 

DYLAN 

Yea. Shooting some type of energy type of ball out of his hands.  

MIRANDA 

So I’m not seeing things. 

DYLAN 

Come on. Let’s go help her. 

MIRANDA 

Are you sure? I mean what if he shoots at us.  

DYLAN 

It’s worth the risk. Our job is to protect people. So let’s go. Partner. 

MIRANDA 

Alright.  

Dylan and Miranda chase after him pounce on him making him miss allowing the woman to get away and pin him down. 

DYLAN 

Alright. Culprit. We got you now.  

MIRANDA 

It’s time for us to turn you in. Mr. involved with all the late murders that have been happening in Shellstone City.  

MAN 

Get off or you two will regret it.  

MIRANDA 

Are you sure about that? Looks like we have the upper hand here. Culprit. 

DYLAN 

Yea. And we’re taking you in to pay for your crimes. 

MAN 

Foolish mortals. I warned you.  

The man then charges his energy ball ready to fire. Dylan notices it.  

DYLAN 

Save yourself(pushing Miranda away from him.) 

The man then blasts Dylan with an energy ball wounding him badly knocking him against a tree killing him instantly.  

MIRANDA 

Inspector Martin! No! You monster. 

Miranda runs towards the man to fight with him but he readies another energy ball shooting at her.  

MAN 

I’ll kill you too. 

A young blonde woman, HEATHER, wearing a black sweater and khaki pants, walks in. She then uses her telekinesis to direct the energy ball away.  

HEATHER 

Malachi. Found you now. It’s time to vanquish you.  

Miranda is looking a bit clueless at what is going on.  

MIRANDA 

Vanquish. What are you talking about? And what are you and what is he?  

HEATHER 

Just run okay. This guy is dangerous.  

MIRANDA 

But my partner. I can’t just leave him there.  

HEATHER 

I’ll take care of it. Just run.  

Miranda runs away trying not to look back as Heather deals with Malachi. Grunts and groans can be heard in the background.  

END FLASHBACK.  

EXT. PARK-DAY  

Miranda starts tearing up after remembering.  

MIRANDA 

Inspector Martin. I swear I will prove your death will be explained. They will believe me.  

Then Miranda gets blindsided and someone grabs her from behind putting a black hood over her as she screams but no one hears her.

EXT. SHELLTASTIC CLUB-DAY (STILL)

INT. SHELLTASTIC CLUB-BASEMENT-DAY 

The room is dark. Miranda is tied up to a chair and still with the black hood on. 

MIRANDA

Who are you? And why have you captured me? I swear I have connections to the police. I can report you. 

Then the light flickers on. The hood is taken off and she sees her friends, KAYLIE and CHARLOTTE in front of her. The whole area is filled with colorful decorations, streamers, and fancy tablecloth on the tables. Kaylie and Charlotte then bust out laughing.

KAYLIE

Oh my god. I can’t believe your face.

CHARLOTTE

Yea it was hilarious. I even got a picture of it. 

Charlotte shows her the picture. 

MIRANDA

WHAT THE HECK IS WRONG WITH YOU TWO? I really thought I was kidnapped. And what’s with all these decorations.

KAYLIE

Charlotte thought it would be funny and a great prank considering the pranks you did to us during our final year. Remember. And all this is for your birthday party. 

MIRANDA

He he he. Very funny. Girls. I’m laughing already. 

KAYLIE

At least this will be a great story to tell your future kids one day. 

MIRANDA

I still don’t think it’s funny. And I told you too. I don’t want a fancy birthday part with all these stuff. 

CHARLOTTE

I know it’s hard to celebrate ever since your partner died a day before your birthday two years ago. 

KAYLIE

But you have to move on. Miranda. Be happy. He saved your life from that bad man you told us about. 

MIRANDA

I knew I should have called for backup before we did anything but he wanted to rush in. 

KAYLIE

I know. Miranda. You have to think. It’s not your fault. 

MIRANDA

But I think it is. We shouldn’t have gone that night. I warned him about the dangers of night of unexpected places. 

CHARLOTTE

Miranda. Please cheer up. It’s your birthday. I mean Officer Martin wouldn’t want to feel like this. He probably wouldn’t be happy in heaven if you feel so down. 

KAYLIE

Yea. Miranda. Also I invited a bunch of hot guys to the party. I mean. Look at you. You need to get laid. 

MIRANDA

No I do not. Besides what I experienced with Johan was already enough. 

KAYLIE

MIRANDA

I think I’m going to pass on this party.

KAYLIE

You can’t pass on your own party. It’s wrong in so many ways.

CHARLOTTE

Yea. Miranda.

MIRANDA

I’m just not in the mood to celebrate. But for you two. Okay. Okay. I’ll come to the party. But this place needs some more spicing up. I mean the décor here. I mean it’s colorful. But it doesn’t have that oomph. 

KAYLIE

Man are we glad you’re our best friend. The fun Miranda is back. 

CHARLOTTE

Woo hoo. Well let’s get this place spruced up. It’s time to go shopping. 

MIRANDA

And girls. I was never not fun. I just.. Ugh. Alright. Let’s go.

KAYLIE

And don’t forget to thank me. After all, this is my club and I closed it off just for you. Miranda. 

MIRANDA

Alright. Thank you. But no thank you for that kidnapping prank on me. And please next time. Do not do that again for my next birthday. 

KAYLIE

CHARLOTTE

Yep. Now come on. Let’s go shopping.

Miranda, Kaylie, and Charlotte then walk out of the basement after turning off the lights and closing the door.

EXT. SHELLSTONE CITY P.D-FRONT AREA- DAY

Two officers bring in a body bag and walk through the door.

INT. SHELLSTONE P.D-MAXIMILIANO’S OFFICE-DAY

MAXIMILIANO (40) is looking over a file on a current case. 

MAXIMILIANO 

This has been the tenth time already. Another young victim. This poor kid. His family will be distraught. There has to be a way to catch this culprit. My good friend, Liam, is doing his best, but he or she is good. 

Maximiliano scratches his head and ponders on what to do while continuing to look at the file.

EXT. DALESTONE UNIVERSITY OF MAGIC-DAY(STILL)

INT. DALESTONE UNIVERSITY OF MAGIC- ROOM 313-POTION MAKING CLASSROOM- -DAY

Valerie is sitting in her desk as she waits for their students to finish their potions. 

VALERIE

Alright. Class. Twenty more minutes. And I want all your potions bottled by end of class. Or your grades will be deducted. 

STUDENTS

(mumbling)

Aw man. 

VALERIE

What was that? I hear talking when you all are supposed to working on your potions. 

STUDENTS

Sorry. Professor Dasher. 

VALERIE 

Good. 

The students continue as Valerie sits and wait.

EXT. SHELLSTONE CITY MALL- ENTRANCE-DAY

INT. SHELLSTONE CITY MALL-WALKWAYS-DAY 

Miranda is with her friends, Kaylie and Charlotte, walking around and find the party decoration shop. 

MIRANDA

Here it is. Everything for a party. Party Palooza Galore. 

KAYLIE

Alright. 

CHARLOTTE

Let’s start shopping. 

MIRANDA

I’ll look for tablecloths. Kaylie . You’re on streamers and party poppers. Charlotte. Finally. You’re on posters and banners. 

KAYLIE

Okay. 

CHARLOTTE

Let’s get ready. Three. Two. One. Get Ready. Shop!

Miranda, Kaylie, and Charlotte then head off in different directions to find the stuff. 

CUT TO:

INT. SHELLSTONE CITY MALL-WALKWAYS-DAY(LATER)

Miranda, Kaylie, and Charlotte walk out of Party Palooza Galore with bags full of party supplies. 

MIRANDA

We got our stuff. Time to head back and decorate. 

KAYLIE

Yep. 

CHARLOTTE

I’m so ecstatic. Finally we’re doing something for your birthday. Last year. It was. Um. No words. I don’t even know how to explain.

MIRANDA

Let’s not worry about the past but the present. And this party will be great. You two are right. I need to move on from Officer Martin’s death. 

KAYLIE

I’m glad the two of us put some sense into you. 

CHARLOTTE

What she said. 

MIRANDA

Now come on. Let’s head back. 

Miranda, Charlotte, Kaylie are heading towards the doors to exit when Miranda recognizes someone looking like Malachi. Her friends noticed it. 

KAYLIE

What’s up? Miranda. 

CHARLOTTE

Yea. It seems like you’re staring into space. 

MIRANDA

It’s just I saw someone who looked the man that killed Officer Martin. But it can’t be. That someone that told me to run say she would take care of it. Unless she …

KAYLIE

I don’t know. But as you said. Let’s not worry about the past. And think about the present. 

CHARLOTTE

And the present is for you to have to the best birthday party ever. 

MIRANDA

Well then. Let’s go. 

The three of them then continue walking.

INT. SHELLSTONE CITY MALL-DAY

Malachi, who is wearing a nice black suit, is talking to one of the security guards, GREG. Greg then taps Malachi to let him know something.

MALACHI

What is it? Greg. 

GREG

Um. There was a woman looking at you strangely. 

MALACHI

Well. Who wouldn’t? I am a pretty mysterious man and also handsome. 

GREG

You’re right. Mr. Bell. Maybe I was overthinking things. 

MALACHI

You know what. You been working too much. That is probably why you’re thinking like that. Well. Have a good day. I have some business to attend to. 

GREG

Of course. And I’ll just be here. Doing my job. 

MALACHI

Alright. 

Malachi then walks off. 

CUT TO:

INT. SHELLSTONE CITY MALL-BASEMENT-DAY

The place is dark. Only a few lights shine in the area. Tied up in a chair, it is Heather. She looks in bad shape like someone going through withdrawal and is shivering. 

HEATHER

I..need.. ugh.. more. Where is it?

Malachi walks in with a small case.

MALACHI

Here. Here. My dear. I got it. 

HEATHER

Give… please.. I need… it. 

MALACHI

I love this. The one that tried to destroy me. Is now begging me to help her. Justin is a genius. With this drug, I can put anyone under my bidding and it acts like a real drug where a person becomes addicted after a few doses. 

HEATHER

I can’t take it.. anymore.. give me .. it .. now. 

MALACHI

Well. Would you do anything for it? 

HEATHER

Anything…. Please.. I need… it. I’m shaking. 

MALACHI

Well then. Give me a kiss on the lips. And make it good. 

Malachi then walks up closer to her. Heather gives him a passionate kiss. 

HEATHER

There… Now give me.. 

MALACHI

As you wish. 

Malachi then feeds Heather the drug. It takes effect. She stops shaking and then goes into a trance and kisses his hand.

HEATHER

Master Malachi. How may I serve you? 

MALACHI 

By pleasuring me. I will take you to my abode. 

HEATHER

Of course. Master. I am yours to command.

MALACHI 

I like the sound of that.

Malachi then grabs her and kisses her as he teleports out in a flurry of green flames.

EXT. CUPID CASTLE-DAY

The area is a pink colored castle with statues of all type of cupids with their bow and arrow and covered by clouds with a pink tint to it. 

CUT TO:

EXT. CUPID CASTLE-CUPID COURTHOUSE-DAY 

OLIVIA, a blonde woman looking around her 40s, is in the stands for her trial in front of the Tribunal of the Cupids, four figures, dressed in pink cloaks, sitting down in front of her. The middle one, CALLUM, stands up. 

CALLUM

Well Olivia. What do you have to say for yourself? For your crimes against the cupid rules. 

OLIVIA

I couldn’t help it. They were meant to be. I know cupids are not supposed to heavily involve. But they needed a push. 

CALLUM

And that push made matters worse. They weren’t a fit for each other. Tried to marry but it didn’t work out. 

OLIVIA

It was just one mistake. Tribunal Member Callum. Please. Give me a chance. I can change. 

CALLUM

Uh huh. Yes. You always say that every time. And remind to me how many times the Tribunal have seen you in court. 

OLIVIA

Well Let me see(thinking, calculating) . Was it ten. Twenty. So much I can’t remember.

CALLUM 

This is why I must do this. Cupid Agent Olivia. You are stripped of your powers and will become mortal. 

OLIVIA

You can’t be serious. 

CALLUM

Oh I am. Maybe experiencing the real world . It may teach you a lesson to not abuse your powers so much. That is all. ‘

OLIVIA

But Tribunal Member Callum. Please. Don’t do this to me. It’s been so long since I been in the mortal world. Don’t punish me like this. I’ll do anything to make up for my mistakes.

CALLUM

Well. It’s up to the other members of the Cupid Tribunal to approve my decision. If they all say Aye, you will be mortal. Well. Graham. Linda. Mary. 

GRAHAM

An aye for me.

CALLUM

Callum pounds the mallet. 

CALLUM

I declare Cupid Agent Olivia to be stripped of her powers due to reckless use. And therefore shall be sent down to the mortal world to experience what real love and not suggestive love. 

OLIVIA

No please.. Tribu… 

Olivia is then teleported out in a flurry of pink beams before she can finish her sentence. 

CALLUM

Well then. The meeting is adjourned. Time to head out. 

Callum, Graham, Linda, and Mary then teleport out in a flurry of pink beams. 

CUT TO:

EXT. SHELLSTONE CITY- GRANITE LAKE-DAY

Olivia arrives teleported in the lake.

OLIVIA

Seriously. Why? Of all places to land me. It had to be a body of water. Ugh. I’m so wet. Good thing I know how to swim or I be fish food. 

Olivia then swims to shore and sees a case with a note on it. She reads it. 

Dear Olivia, 

Courtesy of the Tribunal of Cupids. Inside the case, is what you will need. There are funds in there that will last you and also an ID card that will allow you to live in the mortal world without suspicion. And of course, some clothes. 

OLIVIA

Are you freaking serious? Ugh. Well it’s better than them sending me here without nothing. 

Olivia then grabs the case and walks off. 

CUT TO:

EXT. SHELLSTONE CITY STREETS- DAY

Olivia is speeding as she is followed by a police car sounding the sirens.

OLIVIA

Aw man. The cops. Maybe I can lose them. 

Olivia starts speeding up and tries to avoid the police car. She is able to until the police car drives in front of her causing her to brake hard making a screech sound. Two police officers come out and Olivia recognizes them. 

OLIVIA

Gretchen? Paul?

GRETCHEN

Yea it’s us. Lucky it was Paul and I. 

PAUL

Yea. Or you would have been given a ticket. 

OLIVIA

I bet Callum sent you two to check on me. Huh.

GRETCHEN

Of course. I mean. We’re good friends. 

PAUL

And know what you are. And you do have a tendency to rebel and break the rules. 

GRETCHEN

Which is the reason why you got stripped of your powers and sent down to the real world. 

OLIVIA

You know. Gretchen. Paul. I really get tired of your two lecturing me all the time. But I don’t care. I’m here in the real world with nothing to do. I need something to enjoy myself. 

GRETCHEN

Then do something legal. I mean there are other fun things here. There’s bowling. Clubs. Bars. Whatever you can find. 

OLIVIA

Just let me be. If I behave, will you two be less on checking up on me. 

GRETCHEN

You better. 

PAUL

We are watching you. Cause we’re cupids. 

OLIVIA

Alright. Alright. Fine. I’ll drive safely from now on. 

GRETCHEN

Paul smiles. Gretchen and Paul then teleport out in a flurry of pink beams along with their police car. 

OLIVIA

Man. How did I even end up being friends with those two? 

Olivia sighs and then starts the car and drives out.

EXT. DALESTONE UNIVERSITY OF MAGIC-CAMPUS QUAD-DAY 

Valerie is reading a book on a bench when she gets a text message on her phone. 

VALERIE

Hmm. Wonder what it could be. 

Valerie reads it and is shocked at the message says. She then runs off quickly. 

CUT TO:

INT. SHELLTASTIC CLUB-BASEMENT

Miranda, Kaylie, and Charlotte have just finished redecorating the basement of the club for Miranda’s birthday party celebration.

MIRANDA

Now this is what a party should like like.

KAYLIE

We did good work.

CHARLOTTE

I agree. 

MIRANDA

So now what? Girls?

KAYLIE

I guess to figure out when is the right time to bring the food in. 

CHARLOTTE

Yea.

MIRANDA

It’s obvious. Around whatever time the party supposed to start at. I hope it is good food.

KAYLIE

Of course. I booked a five star catering service. I have seen the reviews on it and it is great. 

CHARLOTTE

Okay. Then. I guess we girls can hang out for a bit and catch up. I mean after what happened to your partner. You haven’t tried to contact us for a while now.

KAYLIE

You can’t blame us by reaching out with that tactic.

MIRANDA

I mean there were other ways than a fake kidnapping. Come on. 

KAYLIE

You’re right. Next time.

CHARLOTTE

Yea.

Miranda, Kaylie, and Charlotte then start chatting and catching up with each other on their daily lives.

FADE IN: 

INT. DALESTONE UNIVERSITY OF MAGIC – VALERIE’S OFFICE-DAY 

Valerie is looking super nervous from the text she got a while ago. 

VALERIE 

(to herself)  

Man oh man. Young witches getting killed. This is bad. I really thought that case was solved after that incident of what happened to that police officer two years ago.  

Then a bat pops in surprising Valerie making her scream. The bat then starts to form and it reveals a young woman, DARIA, looking mid-30s, with brunette hair, wearing a navy blue dress and heels.  

DARIA 

Good afternoon. Professor Dasher.  

VALERIE 

You nearly gave me a fright. Do you always have to do this every visit? Last time you turned into a cockroach and I nearly stomp on you.  

DARIA 

Because it’s fun to see your reaction every time. At least you are bit calmed than my other colleagues when I do it. So what’s up?  

VALERIE 

Okay. I’ll take that as a compliment. And nothing is up. I’m fine.  

DARIA 

Uh huh. I know you. I mean we started teaching here around the same year. You look a bit anxious and nervous.  

VALARIE 

It’s nothing. 

DARIA 

Are you sure?  

VALERIE 

Just leave it. I’ll get over it.  

DARIA

Daria then turns into a bat and flies out.  

VALERIE

That professor. Up to scaring another victim I see.  

Valerie smiles. She then grabs her purse and suitcase and rolls out of her office after turning off the light and locking the door.

EXT. SHELLTASTIC CLUB-DAY 

Olivia is driving around and stops in front of the club. She notices the signs says closed but the lights are still lit.  

OLIVIA 

This is strange. Why is it closed when there are still lights?  

Olivia gets out of her car and notice another sign. It reads.  

Sorry. Kind patrons. Shelltastic Club is closes for a private special event. We’ll see you all tomorrow.  

OLIVIA 

(to herself) 

This is lame. I guess I’ll find another club. I mean there has been someplace where I can have some fun.  

CUT TO: 

EXT. SHELLSTONE CITY P.D.-FRONT AREA-DAY 

A husband and wife, EDGAR and RITA, both blonde and with blue eyes, walk in through the doors.  

CUT TO: 

INT. SHELLSTONE CITY P.D.-FRONT DESK-DAY 

Edgar and Rita walk up to the front desk and go up to talk to OFFICER LENTS, the front desk clerk.

EDGAR 

Officer Lents. Has your department found any sigh of our daughter, Heather Landors.  

RITA 

We have put posters up and I’m surprised there have been no calls.  

OFFICER LENTS 

That is strange indeed. But our officers are doing our best to try and find your two’s daughter. Okay. Just be patient.  EDGAR 

We have been patient enough. It’s been two years. And you officers are not doing the best job.  

RITA 

I agree with my husband. Does it really take that long to find a missing person?  

OFFICER LENTS

I’m so sorry. Chief. Do you think that someone is trying to prevent us from finding Heather?  

MAXIMILIANO 

I don’t know. Officer. But I got to focus on other matters. Like these young people being killed.  

OFFICER LENTS 

Should you let Officer Milton handle this? I mean as a Chief you got other things to worry about.  

MAXIMILIANO 

Yea I do. But it’s been a while since I have been out on the field. I’ll be fine.  

OFFICER LENTS 

Be careful. I’m just worried about you ending up like what happened to Officer Martin.  

MAXIMILIANO 

I’ll be careful. It was a shame. And it was because of that. I lost two of my best officers.

Are you sure about this? I should be worried about future witches getting killed than this party? My parents are meeting with the Witches’ Council right now to figure out the situation.  

AMBER 

(whispering)  

I know you’re worried. But it’s time to have fun. It was really hard to get an invite to this party. Very exclusive. Only so many people are invited.  

VALERIE 

(whispering)

AMBER  

(softly)

VALERIE

AMBER

I lost my phone and had to get a new one. Guess I forgot to tell you. 

MIRANDA

Okay then. Then what is it? 

VALERIE

I just can’t. Miranda. I have to go. 

Valerie then runs off. 

MIRANDA

( glancing at Valerie as she runs off) 

Val. Wait.. Don’t.. 

Kaylie then pops in. 

KAYLIE

Yo what’s up. You were gone for the bathroom for a while. Charlotte and I were getting worried something bad happened to you. 

MIRANDA

Let’s just say it was a blast of the past. 

KAYLIE

Don’t tell me. Johan got into this party somehow. 

MIRANDA

Oh no. Thank goodness. He and I are over. It was Valerie. 

KAYLIE

Oh my gosh. I think this is fate. 

MIRANDA

It’s not a good fate. Valerie ran away from me. It’s like she doesn’t want anything to do with me. 

KAYLIE

Oh my god. Miranda. Why didn’t you chase after her? I mean you told Charlotte how much she meant to you.

Amber walks off with a grin on her face.

VALERIE

MIRANDA

Val. Talk to me. You can’t avoid me forever. And I don’t buy that lie about you losing your phone and having changed your number. 

VALERIE

Why don’t you stop bothering me and go back to your wonderful husband, Johan. 

MIRANDA

Johan and I are over. Been for a while. Val. Please. Let me explain.

VALERIE

I don’t want to hear it. 

MIRANDA

MIRANDA

VALERIE

Valerie continues walking away but Miranda grabs her hand pulling her back. 

MIRANDA

VALERIE

MIRANDA

Look I’m sorry. Okay. I was confused and young. I mean my first love was Johan. I didn’t know real love til you came into my life. Val. 

VALERIE

MIRANDA

I lied because I wasn’t sure of my feelings back then. I know now. Val. Valerie. Please give us another chance. 

They then hear Olivia crying in joy and eating popcorn. 

OLIVIA

Now this is a show. So sweet. This is what love looks like. The push and pull. Amazing. A grand applause. 

Valerie and Miranda then notice Olivia. 

VALERIE

Who the heck are you? 

MIRANDA

Exactly my question.

OLIVIA

I’m just an admirer. 

VALERIE

Fine some other people to admire. We are not in love. 

OLIVIA

Uh huh. Whatever you said. I can tell you when someone is denying love. 

VALERIE

What are you? A cupid or something.

OLIVIA

You could say that. 

Then Valerie, Miranda, and Olivia hear a young woman scream in the distance. 

VALERIE

Oh no. It’s as I worried.

Valerie runs towards the noise. 

MIRANDA

Hey come back here. We’re not finished talking. 

Miranda follows her. 

OLIVIA

Well. This will be interesting. I better follow them too. Finally some adventure.

SHELLSTONE CITY ALLEYWAYS-NIGHT

A demon is chasing a young witch as he shoots fire balls at her as she continues to deflect it with her force field power. 

YOUNG WITCH

Stay away. Demon. 

DEMON

No I won’t. I have orders to eliminate and I’m not leaving you alone. 

Valerie then uses her telekinesis power to move the demon against the wall. It allows a chance for the young witch to run away.

VALERIE 

Stop right there. Demon. 

Miranda is shocked at what just happened after arriving. 

MIRANDA 

What the heck are you? 

VALERIE

Miranda. Stay away. It’s dangerous. I’ll explain later. Get to safety.

MIRANDA

Heck no. I’m not leaving you alone. I already lost my partner. I won’t lose you too. 

Olivia actually walks past them and doesn’t notice them.

OLIVIA

Man. Where did they go? I swear they went over here. 

Olivia continues walking around and searching. 

VALERIE

I can handle this. Run away now.

MIRANDA

No. I won’t leave you. 

VALERIE

Stop being so stubborn. I can handle this. Now get to safety. 

MIRANDA

Nope. I won’t . I’m going to help. 

VALERIE 

You can’t. 

As the two of them are distracted, the demon gets back up from being knocked against the wall takes an aim at Miranda with his fire ball. 

VALERIE

Watch out!

Valerie pushes Miranda out of the way but is grazed on the arm by his fireball. 

MIRANDA

Valerie!

Miranda runs to her. 

VALERIE

I’m fine. Get to safety. 

MIRANDA

But you’re hurt. 

VALERIE

I can take care of him. 

Valerie walks up to him and uses her telekinesis to knock him against a wall again. He stands up again. 

DEMON

Not bad. I see you’re a witch too. Guess I will kill you for interfering also. 

VALERIE

I don’t think so. 

Valerie uses her cryokinesis to freeze him and then uses her telekinesis to knock him against a wall smashing him to pieces. A guardian angel then teleports in a flurry of light golden beams. 

GUARDIAN ANGEL

Valerie. Are you okay? Let me heal you.

VALERIE

It’s just a graze. Don’t worry about it. Rohan. 

ROHAN

This was really dangerous. You could have gotten killed fighting a demon on your own. I’m tasked to protect the Dasher family. My bosses, the Angels, would be must upset if anything happen to you or the rest of the Dasher family.

Miranda walks up to them. 

MIRANDA

What is going on here? And please explain. I have all night. Considering what I just saw and went through. 

ROHAN

I could wipe her mind if you want. 

VALERIE

Oh no you won’t. 

ROHAN

But.. It’s against the rules. No mortal is able to know anything about the magical community. 

OLIVIA

(O/S)

Well well. If it isn’t Rohan. 

Olivia finally finds them. 

ROHAN

Olivia. Of course. My bosses told me you were sent down here. 

OLIVIA

Surprisingly you know that rule because you broke it yourself. Rohan. Remember Jennifer. You fell in love with her. And she tried to send you to the loony house. 

ROHAN

It was one silly mistake. I have learned the errors of my way. Now don’t get involved. The problems of the Dasher family are my problem. 

OLIVIA

What if I want to get involved. Rohan. 

ROHAN

Then face the consequences. I’ll let your old bosses know about this. 

Rohan then teleports out in flurry of light golden lights with his face in anger. 

MIRANDA

Alright. Then. I’m waiting. Need some explaining.

VALERIE

Fine. I will. 

Valerie sighs as she starts telling Miranda the whole truth as Olivia listens in.

MIRANDA

Okay then. Then I need your help. 

VALERIE

Wait. Hold on. How come you’re so calm about this? 

MIRANDA

It’s because I have seen something like it already two years ago. 

VALERIE

No way. So you knew a bit already. 

MIRANDA

Yea. But no one believed me. Well except the Chief. But he needed evidence. 

VALERIE

MIRANDA

The real truth of how my partner, Inspector Martin, died. 

VALERIE

I saw it in the news. They said he was murdered by an animal or something. 

MIRANDA

That’s a lie. Only I know the real truth and I’m trying to prove it. 

VALERIE

You know what? Your skills could be useful.

MIRANDA

Great. Now when you need for something. You talk to me. 

VALERIE

Don’t act like this. You broke my heart. It’s going take me some time. Miranda.

MIRANDA

VALERIE

But for now. Is the death of young witches? Which the police thinks it’s just young men and women.

MIRANDA

That task may be difficult as those demons are very elusive and do not wish to be found. I will try my best.

MIRANDA

Olivia tears up again.

OLIVIA

This is so sweet. Old lovebirds reuniting for a common goal but different causes. So sweet.

VALERIE

Again. We’re not in love for now. But who knows. Time will tell.

MIRANDA

VALERIE

Yea Miranda. You broke my heart. But what you said to me. I might rethink about it. The idea of us. But now. Who are you? Olivia? And how does Rohan know you. 

OLIVIA

Let’s say cupids and angels sometimes interact at times. Well actually I’m an ex-cupid. I got punished and stripped of my powers to learn my lesson of abusing my powers. 

MIRANDA

I thought cupids wore diapers and had a bow and arrow. 

OLIVIA

Oh my. Mortals with their biased depiction of us kind of like with witches depiction. 

VALERIE

Yea. So. I guess it’s decided. The three of us will deal with this mystery. 

OLIVIA

Wait. Hold on here. I never said I would you two. I’m just here to admire your relationship. 

VALERIE

I don’t care. I made the decision. Besides I kind of like you. You got the feistiness. No one has ever been brave enough to even stand up to Rohan and say words like that. My parents and the whole Dasher family never dared including myself. 

OLIVIA

Why thank you. Fine. For that compliment. Guess I will join you guys. Who knows if you two end up together, my old bosses might give me my powers for helping a couple lost get back together.

VALERIE

Hmm. I knew that reaction seem weird. So you have an ulterior motive. 

OLIVIA

VALERIE

Of course I am. I was trained well by my parents to detect anything. Including lies. But the downfall is that I’m horrible with lying. 

MIRANDA

VALERIE

VALERIE

Great. But how do we get home. It’s going be a long walk back to that club since we ran a good distance following the demon here. And I left my purse at the party when I ran off. 

MIRANDA

VALERIE

MIRANDA

OLIVIA

Olivia walks off leading the way as Valerie and Miranda follow her.

Edgar and Rita are pacing around the room unable to sleep worrying much about their missing daughter, Heather. 

EDGAR

I can’t believe this. It’s been two years. And these cops couldn’t do anything efficient.

RITA

I agree. I’m so worried about her. Like did she eat enough or even still alive.

EDGAR

Babe. Don’t think that. Our daughter will found and the three of us can be a happy family again.

Edgar then gets a call on his cellphone. The Caller ID says Shellstone City Police Department. 

EDGAR

(showing the phone to Rita)

It’s the police department. Maybe they found something. 

RITA

Answer it. Honey.

Edgar nods and answers it.

Edger Landors speaking. How may I help you?

OFFICER LENTS

Hello. This is Officer Lents. Mr. Landors. I have news of your daughter, Heather. But the thing is. There’s the good and the bad news. Which one first.

The good news that your daughter has been found. But the bad news is..

Heather is in the hospital. It seems she suffered an overdose. A kind person found her and took her immediately into the hospital. 

Edgar drops the phone hearing it but Rita catches it.

Honey. What happened to our dear daughter? 

OFFICER LENTS

Hello. Mr. Landors. You still there. 

EDGAR

Heather is in the hospital because of an overdose. 

RITA

Oh my gosh. But keep on the phone. We need to find out which hospital. 

EDGAR

Rita hangs Edgar back the phone and he gets back on the call.

Malachi is sitting in his desk thinking. 

MALACHI

It’s a shame I had to let go of my pet. But if I kept her any longer. Those cops would look into it and it wouldn’t be good in my case or my master. The annoying thing is now I got a new problem. That witch and that mortal I wasn’t able to kill along with an ex-cupid. 

A cloaked figure, then teleports in a flurry of black flames. He takes off the hood but his head is just a shadow and his red eyes start glowing and then stops and puts a white mask over his eyes. 

MALACHI

Master Phantos. What brings you here? 

PHANTOS

Let me worry about these three. I have a demon for the job. For now, just worry about what I have assigned you to do. 

MALACHI

Of course. Master Phantos. As you wish. 

Phantos then teleports out in a flurry of black flames. 

MALACHI

Let’s hope that demon doesn’t fail my master. Or those three will really interfere with the plans. 

Malachi then gets into his chair and gets to work on his computer.

DASHER MANSION-NIGHT-LIVING ROOM

Valerie walks seeing her parents sitting there as the lights are flickered on. 

VALERIE

Hey mom. Dad. Sorry for getting home so late. So how was the meeting with the Witches’ Council?

NATHANIEL

We got news. It’s confirmed that the deaths are mostly young witches. As for the reason, we don’t know why.

JOANNE

And Rohan told us what happened and why you refused to let him erase a mortal’s memory. 

VALERIE

I can’t. Besides. You can trust her. She is the partner of the Inspector that died and she saw what happened but no one but her boss or I guess ex-boss believed her. 

NATHANIEL

I don’t know. It’s a bit risky. What if she accidentally blurts out the secret? 

JOANNE

Yea. Not everyone can be like your bestie, Amber. 

VALERIE

Dad. Mom. Trust me. Our secret is safe with her. 

NATHANIEL

If you think so. Then fine.

JOANNE

Same. Valerie. Now how about we all head to bed now. 

VALERIE

That sounds good. 

The three of them then exit the living room heading to bed.

Miranda then into the house and walks into the living room stumbling into XAVIER, the Lang’s family butler. 

XAVIER

Miss Miranda. You are home. Mr. Lang was so worried when you didn’t pick your phone. 

MIRANDA

The music was really loud. It was hard to hear the phone. So I guess dad is working late again. 

XAVIER

Yes he is. And your mother called too. Say she has important news and to call her in the morning.

MIRANDA

Let me guess. She got accepted for another award again. 

XAVIER

I don’t know. But she is your mother. At least try to understand. Mrs. Lang loves you in her own way. 

MIRANDA

I don’t about that. But don’t mind me. I’m heading to bed. 

XAVIER 

Okay. Miss Miranda. Have a good night.

MIRANDA

You too. Xavier. 

XAVIER
